Emergent Strategy : Shaping Change, Changing Worlds is a 2017 nonfiction book by A drienne M aree Brown, a writer, activist, facilitator, and movement leader. Though it is A drienne’s first solo project, Emergent Strategy has been a movement bestseller since its launch . Inspired by Octavia Butler’s exploration of our relationship to change in the Parable series , Emergent Strategy is c onsidered a guidebook for getting in right relationship with change and using our own nature and that of creatures beyond humans as our teachers . The book offers tips, tools, and strategies to approach social justice on individual, collective, and planetary scales. A core principle of emergent strategy is that transformation cannot occur until the people who comprise the movement are transformed. With this in mind, we’ll reflect on the connection between ourselves and our work, ways to operationalize Adrienne’s framework and engage in vulnerable self-reflection to create a more connected future. We encourage you to purchase a copy of the book from your local independent bookstore , bookshop.org —a n online retailer that supports independent bookstore s, or to borrow a copy from the local library. If you are unable to obtain a copy of the book but are still interested in participating, please reach out to Rachel Dortin at [email protected]

From Insights to Operations: Modernizing DER Programs with Load Intelligence

      Dec 16, 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM (ET)
From Insights to Operations: Modernizing DER Programs with Load Intelligence As distributed energy resources (DERs) continue to expand across the grid, utility leaders are seeking new ways to unlock customer-level insight, accelerate DER adoption, and ensure reliable system performance. In this webinar, experts from Bidgely and West Monroe will explore how load intelligence is transforming the DER lifecycle—from planning and program design to enrollment, interconnection, and ongoing performance validation. Join us to learn how granular load disaggregation makes every kilowatt-hour visible, enabling personalized DER engagement at scale and empowering utilities to design precision programs that align customer value with broader grid and policy goals. We will also discuss how greater visibility into site-level baselines and DER interactions streamlines technical reviews, enhances safety, and supports adaptive, data-driven program management. Speakers from Bidgely and West Monroe will share real-world examples and actionable strategies to help utilities confidently integrate DERs while improving customer satisfaction and ensuring reliable grid performance. Speakers: Chuck Ray, Director, Partnership, Bidgely Sam Uyeno Partner, Utilities, West Monroe
